Short Term Medical Insurance

Going without health insurance coverage is NOT a good plan. There's no way to predict when or where an accident or illness could occur.

Short-term medical (STM) plans may be an affordable alternative for those that...

  • Can't afford personal or employer provided health insurance

  • Are in good general health

  • Missed the annual ACA open enrollment, which typically runs between November and January

  • Need temporary coverage due to a recent loss of job-based coverage

  • Object to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and are uninsured

Benefits and Highlights of STM Plans:

  • Typically have larger national PPO doctor and hospital networks than ACA/Obamacare Plans

  • Typically a cheaper alternative to traditional major medical plans

  • Approval for coverage involves a select few medical questions

  • Can be purchased at any time during the year

  • Policies are approved quickly (based on approval)

  • Coverage periods can be taken out from one month up to 6 or 12 months

Note: STM plans are not ACA compliant, so tax penalties may apply. Terms, conditions, and limitations apply, based on state insurance laws, individual eligibility, and age requirements.
